Yesterday in Montalcino we had a little bit of rain as the vines continued growing.
Last night at around 6 p.m., it started to rain. The rain kept falling lightly for a couple of hours; we had 12 millimetres (1/2 inch) of rain in total.
The rain is important in order to increase the water reserves for the summer; we are waiting patiently as we are expecting some rain tonight as well.
Due to yesterday’s rain the temperature today decreased slightly, compared to the last several days. The low this morning was 7°C and the high today reached 18.5°C.
